Polar Crossing : 27.06.2015 (11:00Z - 20:00Z)

Hello there!

On behalf of IVAO Russia, IVAO United States and IVAO Nordic Region, we announce this exciting collaborative event within our divisions!

Between 1100z and 2000z, on Saturday, June 27th, you have the opportunity to endeavor yourself in an adventure crossing the Arctic Ocean, flying way near the North Pole with full ATC! Pilots will depart from Anchorage/Ted Stevens (PANC) bounding to Saint Petersburg/Pulkovo (ULLI) with enroute service fully provided, giving life to this unique experience!

How to participate?

As a pilot

General Points

Install one of the sceneries below, grab the charts for departure and arrival aerodrome and choose your preferred aircraft, suitable for the route and flight length.

IMPORTANT: Note that stations covering the Arctic Ocean (Anchorage Arctic, Edmonton, Iceland and Bodø Oceanic) does not offer Radar Service, with the ATC done via Position Reports!

Due to internal Flight Simulator's engine (virtual world's projection), in some versions the Geographic North Pole (90°N) is unreachable, with the aircraft hitting an invisible wall and not moving forward. We had build the route to circumvent this, making sure that everyone is able to join in, but we cannot guarantee 100% free of issues. X-Plane users may join also, but we don't know the behavior of that sim near to the Pole.
